about
Pinky-Tagger is the mass tagger for Linux written in C++ using the nice Qt4 widgets. Pinky-Tagger supports the MusicBrainz (PUID / OFA) service to find the correct tag information for your files automatically.
With Pinky-Tagger, you can manage your files, download cover, tag via an integrated expression scanner, tag via the MusicBrainz information or even listen to your files (external player support).
  • Pinky-Tagger is fast! Pinky-Tagger generates PUID fingerprints, gets MusicDNS & MusicBrainz information and save tag information for you in the background. On most other taggers you have to wait for these processes, but with Pinky-Tagger, you can start the tagging work while all this processes run in background.
Pinky-Tagger uses the taglib library which is about 6 times faster than id3lib and 3 times faster than libvorbis.
  • Pinky-Tagger is easy! Pinky-Tagger is designed for easy use. A clear and simple user interface shows the information you need. To tag a file, simply choose one of the proposals from MusicBrainz.
Since version 2.1, Pinky-Tagger is integrated into your prefered desktop environment. Now you can use Drag&Drop to copy files or directories between different locations. To tag a whole album, Pinky-Tagger analysis your files and gives you a preselection of the considered albums. Simply select the files in the album and tag them complete. Each album is served with a cover. Simply right-click on it, to save to your harddrive.
If no MusicBrainz information is available, use the expression scanner to tag from filename or rename the file from tag information.
Don't mind the different tag versions, the fingerprints (OFA/PUID); Pinky-Tagger does it for you.
  • Pinky-Tagger has powerful features! With version 2.1-0, Pinky-Tagger was shipped with the very powerful album tagger. Pinky-Tagger is now capable to assign your files automatic to album tracks without the need of an correct fingerprint. With this feature you are able to tag complete disordered file collection with just a few clicks.
